The painting showcases one of the largest cultural and historical city in Myanmar known as the Mandalay. This city is located on the eastern side of River Irrawaddy. This city has many Buddhist temples which makes it a religious city. The painting uses complementary colors to exhibit the brilliance and the life of this city. This city was Burma’s final royal capital before the invasion of British. The city suffered extensive destruction but has emerged as a remnant which preserves historical and cultural heritage. The wall in the painting is known as ‘Mandalay Kyone’.
